How to Drive Traffic to Your Site in Web 2.0 Environment?

You know, the biggest issue most people face is not the monetization of your traffic, but how to drive traffic.

Every business needs 2 main things: Traffic & Conversion.

Traffic x Conversion = Sales. Full Stop.

What with all the software these days that cranks out millions of junk pages and AdSense sites each and every day around the planet, cluttering up the net and even the paid search (like Google AdSense), traditional SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and the expensive services some SEO experts offer may be a bit archaic.

Simply thinking of meta tags, on-page optimization (like H tags, alt tags and KW density etc) or of off-page optimization (like building a linking kingdom for yourself) is not necessarily what it takes to put you in front of peoples' eyeballs and ahead of millions and millions of competing sites.

How can you compete with savvy black-hatters who bombard the SERP (search engine results pages) with their Viagra or other junk sites?

Well, you can also go gray or black-hat and buy a bunch of top notch helpful (and often expensive) software tools and memberships in order to put your site in front of many eyeballs fast.

Some call it spam and depending upon who and how these nifty tools are used it can be so. Depends upon your morals.
Personally I like to add value not annoy other webmaster and site owners/ bloggers.
I believe you shouldn't do unto others what you don't want done to you.
  
For some people money is all that matters and they couldn't care less if they stuff your sites with useless comments and block search engines with their Viagra or whatever machine generated AdSense junk sites.

The internet is a wonderful medium for free publicity, but I think there needs to be a balance and responsible use of such tools, or they'll end up ruining the net for us all.

The Alternative

If that SEO expert you hired got your site into the first 10 positions on the SERP - for your private name as a Keyword… or for some other insignificant keyword no one else uses or thinks of searching for….
