The Pluses & Minuses of Ink Refill Systems
Ink Refill Systems- are they Good or Bad for your Printer?
Ink refill systems are the thing for recycling and sticking your tongue out at the expensive ink & toner refill industry.
Ink refill systems are a good alternative for people, since most consumers have almost no choice in obtaining new ink, and the major corporate manufacturers of new replacement ink & toner cartridges are not likely to slash their prices. But are printer ink refill systems and kits any good?
In order to protect our environment from pollution and save energy, it is now common practice to also re-use used printer ink toners and cartridges instead of simply discarding them. In other words, when an ink cartridge designed for use in computer or home photo printers or professional inkjet printers runs out of ink (these scamming ink manufacturers give us ever so tinsy bitsy amounts of ink in the seemingly large ink cartridge containers… ), that empty ink cartridge container gets refilled with ink and reset so that it can be re-installed in printers for further use.
With over 1.3 billion ink jet cartridges sold last year and the ever growing appetite for ink as more and more people want to print out photos, images and documents like eBookes, Ink Refill System offer a cheaper alternative.
Ink refill systems can offer tremendous cost savings, yet it is vital you :
- DO NOT allow cartridge to remain outside the printer for an extended period of time or it may not work.
- Do not allow ink cartridges to go completely dry before you refill them.
Eventually, after many refills, the refilled ink toner cartridge will stop working properly. At this time, a new cartridge should be purchased, which can subsequently be refilled several times more, using the ink refill system.
It is true some very cheap ink refill kits are risky and could result in ruining your entire printer.
On the other hand, I wouldn't trust the OEM ink manufacturers when they say you shouldn't use third party inks in your printers.
You need to make sure you buy from printer ink retailers who offer refunds and a guarantee.
Some printer manufacturers will not honor the warranty if they find that ink cartridges have been refilled or third party cartridges have been used.
