A free stock photo site I came accross lately was www.SXC.hu  which offers royalty-free images for your website from over 50,000 photographers and wanna-be-photographers.
You may use images from this site for print, promotions and your website.

You should always read very carefully all Terms Of Servece (TOS) and Conditions such sites have and when the images you pick have their own TOS then review the image license too.

Important to remember:

• Royalty free images, on the whole,  are not for reselling and profiting from.
• Some photographers demand that incase you sell your website (with their images in it) or create products which include their images (such as a website template or a book, a t-shirt etc) you must get photographer's OK first.

Steps:

1. At SXC.hu you will first need to register, then you can use a keyword search to find photos for your topic.
2. Next you'll want to check the TOS for those images selected.
3. Download the free images and happy you!
