mannequin1
Having had to work with stiff mannequins for models, made it difficult to bring out the best of the beautiful designer garments I was to photograph... Playing with lighting helped make this one into a dramatic monumental looking pose...

Christmas Prayers in Jerusalem
This photo of African priests on pilgrimage to the Holy City, Jerusalem, was one of the first I photographed. Playing with the black&white image negative and positive I solarized it a few times. With Photoshop I then cleaned up and optimized the digitalized image.
Beautiful Instruments
In Jean Pavie's atelier in Paris, facing the Notre Dame, I couldn't help but photograph these fabulously crafted instruments - they felt so alive and inviting... This photo was made into a large poster for Jean's instrument exhibition in the Grand Palais. Filmed in B/W in an ancient film no longer on sale and developed by me, with a secret chemical process, which together brings out a large grainy haze and inner glow, yet with sharply defined edges. Printed it myself, while doing an internship in the Tauros Labs in Paris.

This is the negative image of the previous "Prayers in Jerusalem".
Mannequin3
Making the best of a stiff is a continuous challenge, when one has endless garments to photograph and only 2 stiffs to play with.

Jean Pavie playing for me
A brilliant musician, finishing the French Ecole Superior a year faster and with a brilliant future ahead, Jean Pavie decided to build instead of playing. But he always would play for me when I requested... If you need a violin, cello or bass get him to build you one of his magic ones. Find him in Paris 6em, along the Sienna, across from the Notre Dame.
When the clock strikes 12
Jean lays down his work tools and we'll go to the marché to buy seafood, mushrooms and salad for our lunch. Thank you Jean for many a lovely days at your atelier, watching you at "work"- creating a new masterpiece or repairing an antiquated violin.
Jean Pavie creating musical instruments
Hypnotizing. I could watch him for hours, back then, when I was +20 and lived in Paris. Jean goes to a forrest to hand pick his trees and bleed them at full moon in certain times of the year, then some months later they'll be ripe for the axe. Poor trees, but rather than the fireplace, at least they are made into a wondrous musical instrument, under this mans' talented and famed hands.

Art Photography for Beauty & eCommerce
In this Art photography gallery I present some of my most beloved images I shot of Jean Pavie, a Parisian Violin maker and a great musician I much admire. He had given me many a happy afternoons , where aside from his fantastic cooking skills - my favourite was his Cockie Saint Jack (or however it gets spelled I can't remember!) with wild mushrooms fried in butter and best white wine from his cellars. Sitting there watching him work inspired me and when he had an exhibition in Paris's Grand Palais my photos were there for him, blown up to poster size, and developed in Tauros Labs in Paris, where I had also spent much time learning from the world's best BW master printer.
The little images of mannequins were part of my studio shootings for an eCommerce site of Europe's largest private wholesale retailer of high-street brands.
