Bicycle - to be removed
I needed to remove bicycle from the background. This average photo was taken probably with a digital camera in someones house. Lacking a budget for a studio shoot we needed to be able to make use of the ugly bicycle regardless. By removing bike from BG we can now layer it on another BG or leave it with a white one... See mask layer in progress...

As you plainly see, bicycle is now neatly cut out. It was a tedious task getting the tires cut out of background just right...

I'll be changing this car's color to something more lively and modern, while keeping the shine and reflections intact...

Done! We now have a lovely new car with a great paint job layered thanks to Photoshop!

This guy I photographed some years ago is the perfect BG for a product poster. I'll fix up ear, nose, add an eye, smooth up the neck and ease the heavy shadows, improve colors and better separate from BG...

Shoes - before
I shot these shoes in a studio I had built for a large wholesale retailer of high-street brand names in Munich, Germany. This was one of my first attempts at studio photography- as you can see, not very successful... Time was too short and I had to snap away for their website. I chose this to use as example for digital image manipulation here.
